We finally got all the parts for the first SUNSPOT™ prototype together at Paul’s workshop. This is the AC version that uses commercial-off-the-shelf equipment. We will use this for demonstrating the concepts and testing, while continuing to work on reducing the complexity and cost.
Paul and I have designed this unit with the specific goal of enabling assembly in the target country using simple wire harnesses and accurate quality control methods.
We are still working on the final layout, but are hoping to have the unit operational next week. Now I just need to find some spare PV modules…
